Due to lost instructional time caused by inclement weather, the school calendar has been adjusted to help students prepare for the end of the semester and for final exams:

·         Semester 1 will now end on Wednesday, February 1. 

·         The start of Semester 2 will be February 2. 

·         Friday, January 27 will remain a Furlough day with a 10:30 a.m. early dismissal.

·         Monday, January 30 will also remain as a Non-Student Day.

What is important to you for our schools? Central Kitsap School District invites you to participate in the 2012-13 school year budget discussion. This is your opportunity to help us prioritize the list of items for reduction or elimination. Don’t miss the forum closest to you:

  • Monday, January 23, 6:30 p.m., Klahowya Secondary School
  • Tuesday, January 24, 6:30 p.m., Central Kitsap High School
  • Thursday, January 26, 6:30 p.m., Olympic High School

Over the past five years, we’ve managed millions in funding shortfalls while protecting the classroom. Next year, our budget situation will require more significant reductions. Our budget shortfall is now estimated at $6.3 million. CKSD has never faced funding cuts of this magnitude. Your feedback will be a vital part of the 2012-13 budget development process.
