Information about Mrs. Eddington
I
have a Bachelor of Arts in English degree from Western Washington
University, and a Masters in Education/Educational Technology degree, also from WWU. I did my student teaching at Vista Middle School in Ferndale, Washington in
a seventh grade language arts/social studies/reading block. I have been at
Central Kitsap Junior High since 1980, and classes I have taught there include
Language Arts 7, Journalism/Language Arts 8, Reading 7-9, Introduction
to Literature 8/9, Journalism 8/9, and Study Strategies. I have been National
Honor Society Advisor, Games Club Advisor, and I have been the Cub Chronicle
advisor since 1981.
I
grew up in University Place (near Tacoma) and graduated from Curtis High School. I have lived in Oregon and Washington. I now live on Long Lake in Port
Orchard.
My family includes my husband Mike, who works in office machine technology. He also teaches ski school on winter weekends, which he has done for almost 30 years. He likes to do autocross, as he is doing in the picture on the right, in a Fiat X1/9.
Our
elder son is Ian, 23. He is a Marine Corps reservist
who has served in Operation Iraqi
Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq twice, and is now in college at Eastern Washington
University. Our younger son is
Alex, 21, who is an avid wake boarder. You can see him here in his boat. He is
also attends college at EWU, and works on project cars (like the Fiat above) in his
spare time.
The other members of our family are our cats, Misty (left) and Lily (right). We think Misty is part lynx because of the tufts on her ears, and she is a little wild cat. Lily is gentle and loving.
Mike and I met
while skiing, and worked as ski instructors/ski school supervisors for
many years
at Snoqualmie Summit and Crystal Mountain- Mike still
does; I
just
ski for fun now! My other interests include karate (I
have a black belt in the Shito-Ryu
style), kayaking, my Audi TT, traveling, and
reading. I
belong to a book club, which meets once a month to discuss books, and I make
sure to save time at the end of each day to read.
