For
many students, being a member of a National Junior Honor Society is the pinnacle
of their achievements on school. This honor society is both the public
recognition if accomplishment and the personal commitment to continued excellent.
Because of this, membership is granted in part because of a student’s academic
achievement, but is also granted with the emphasis that leadership, service,
citizenship, and character are equally important.
The
scholarship requirement is based on a student’s cumulative grade point average.
A student must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.4, which will be
checked at the end of each semester. Should a student fall below the minimum,
he or she will be placed on academic probation for the following semester.
If the student’s grade point average returns to a 3.4 or better, he or she will
remain. If it continues below a 3.4 minimum, the student will not be eligible
to rejoin until his or her grade point average returns to a minimum of 3.4.
