1800's Event Power Point Project
Goal:
This assignment is going to be unique in the respect that it is going to be done completely electronically. You will be turning nothing into me except the name of the Power Point presentation that you will have completed.
You will need to create a presentation and demonstrate your knowledge in one of the six following areas: The Mexican/American War, Trail of Tears, Oregon Trail, Lewis and Clark Expedition, Transcontinental Railroad, or the California Gold Rush. You will need to address the cause/effect of the event, and accurately describe the event as it happened.
Directions:
This presentation has 6 components. You will be required to complete 4 of the components and if you complete a fifth or sixth you will receive a 10 percent bonus for each additional component completed. So, if you complete all components, you will receive 120% of the grade possible.
Here are the six components: Notes, Map, Timeline, Chart/Graph, Latitude/Longitude overlay, and a Power Point presentation. The required elements are listed below in the lime green box and each has it's own rubric detailing the expectations for the required components. The two additional components for extra credit are the chart/graph and the latitude/longitude overlay and they will be explained orally. You will need to watch a short video connected with your topic to get some background information and then follow the rubrics to complete the project. The video segments are also attached at the bottom of this page in a lime green box. All notes must be taken using a word document and saved under the name of your event.
Grading:
Grading on the project is as follows: It will be graded on a 4 point scale 4=A, 3=B, 2=C, 1=D.
Resources:
You may not use the open internet without asking the teacher first. You must exhaust all resources that are readily available to you through the electronic library first.
