CALL TO ORDER:
Co-President Chris Carlson called the meeting to order at 4:03
pm. There was no correspondence. The minutes of September 8,
2009 meeting were approved. M/S/A Cindy Kleinfelter, Mickie
Hartman
FINANCIAL:
Rita Dady
Balance is $9478.13. There is one stale check written on March
9, 2009 for $693.95 to the Science department. Susan will check
in to this. The check will need to be reissued. There was a $5
fee from our bank for a bounced check. It was approved to
absorb the cost and not charge the parent who bounced the
check. Anticipated expense for PTA Membership dues is
approximately $2,341.

COUNCIL
REPORT:
Cindy Kleinfelter
Council meetings had lots of information about the new Math
Curriculum and the school levy. Susan would like any feedback
about the Math Curriculum directed to her.
STUDENT REPORT:
No Report
OLD BUSINESS:
Blanket Sales: Need
volunteers to sell blankets at games this week. Mickie & Chris
are available. Others will be contacted. Form to order
blankets will be in the newsletter, e-news and linked to the
website.
Photo Makeups:
Mickie & Betsey to volunteer.
Kitsap Cards: Forms
are online, in the office & in the newsletter.
NEW
BUSINESS
Book Fair:
Mindy Whitney
Mindy has been in touch with the Scholastic rep and is ready to
go. The fair is scheduled to be delivered on 11/19 and will set
up that afternoon. It will run 11/20-11/25. Pack up will be
late on the 25th and Scholastic picks up on 11/30.
Darcy Lund will co-chair this event. Volunteers contact Mindy.
Concession Shed:
There was discussion about the possibility of a pemanent
building to contain concession supplies.
EZ Money:
Rob McIntyre
Box tops have been counted and Rob is currently being trained by
Kathy Lubetich on EZ Money.
Newsletter:
Cindy
Kleinfelter
Cindy has received much information to include in the
newsletter. Deadline is Friday, October 9 so she can finish
editing and printing. They will go home with progress reports
on 10/15. Volunteers will be needed to stuff at 12:15 on 10/14.
Legislation: Julietta Hokanson
WA's PTA Board, teachers, nurses, firefighters, seniors,
businesses, churches and many others oppose I-1033. There is
lots of info regarding this issue online. Julietta has much
information to share regarding this issue and many others. See
her for further discussion.
Reflections:
Betsey Heber
Letters have gone to teachers and forms are in the library.
Posters have been placed around the school. She asked for an
increase in the budget from $150 to $200-$250. This will be
researched and decided at the next meeting.
Membership: Helene Kain
We have achieved the Bronze level of membership(50%) of previous
year. Currently there are 292 members. There was discussion
over whether we want our goals to be Silver or Gold status.
Vision & Hearing:

Hartman
Screening went well—there were more volunteers than was needed.
She wants to send thank you notes on PTA stationary. Cindy will
work on this. Retest is on 11/2.
Walkabout:
Joan Fukuhara
Walkabouts are up and running and many new people have been
trained. There is coverage on most days, but she still has
several people to contact & train.
