Grading
Policy
Motivation
for Computer Applications at CKJH should not revolve around letter grades,
rather the desire to be the best student one can be, to participate in the
rewarding experience of learning and the gratification of excellence in the
completion of the course. Nonetheless, your student will receive a grade for
this class and that letter grade will be based on a percentage of the following:
Participation
and Conduct (20%) Attendance, daily effort, positive attitude, willingness
to learn and take on new challenges and behavior.
Assignments
(80%)
Extra
Credit (1-5%) Extra credit can be earned for going above and beyond the
regular coursework. Credit can be given for special computer and/or
technology related work a student is doing, even if that work is for another
class.
Internet
Usage
All
students at CKJH will automatically have access to the internet. If parents do
not wish for their child to have access to the internet, they must either
contact the main office with their wishes or indicate their wish on the letter
that is sent home each year outlining the various school policies. While
use of the internet is not necessary for the completion of assignments in this
class, it is a useful tool that will make student’s tasks easier. It also
allows for more creativity and expression.
